DataRiver Srl is an innovative SME accredited as an Industrial Research Lab and as an Innovation Centre of the High Technology Network of the Emilia-Romagna Region. Founded in 2009 as a Spin-Off of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the company develops innovative software solutions in the fields of Big Data Integration & Analytics, IoT, Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Semantic Search.
Within the Emilia-Romagna Region, DataRiver is one of the founding partners of Clust-ER – Service Innovation, aimed at conceiving innovative services based on Big Data Analytics and IoT, and of Clust-ER – Life Sciences and Wellbeing, aimed at designing new solutions in Smart Health.
BI-REX Industry 4.0 Competence Center
Technology provider
DataRiver is one of the founding members of the BI-REX (Big Data Innovation & Research EXcellence) Industry 4.0 Competence Center, a public-private partnership of 61 players born in 2018 and led by the University of Bologna. Within BI-REX, DataRiver operates as a Technology Provider, providing tools and innovative solutions in Big Data integration and analysis of the Industry 4.0 field.
BI-REX is a highly specialized center created to provide assistance and guidance in adopting enabling technologies in Industry 4.0 such as Big Data, Cyber Security, Additive Manufacturing, Predictive Maintenance and Collaborative Robotics, but also training on Industry 4.0 and deployment of innovation projects, industrial research and experimental development.

DataRiver is Associate Member of the Big Data Value Association, a European industry-driven public-private association that promotes research and innovation on Big Data. It counts more than 200 members among companies and research organizations spread in 28 countries.
The mission of the Big Data Value Association is to develop the Innovation Ecosystem that will enable the data and AI-driven digital transformation in Europe delivering maximum economic and societal benefit, and achieving and sustaining Europe’s leadership on Big Data Value creation and Artificial Intelligence.
