DataRiver presents the release 1.1 of the Open Source MOMIS Data Integration system at the 19th Italian Symposium on Advanced Database Systems
The 2011 edition of the SEBD Symposium is the major annual event of the Italian database research community and will take place in Maratea, Italy, from June 26th to 29th.
The 1.1 release includes all the functionalities to aggregate data coming from heterogeneous data sources (MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSql, MS Access (ODBC), MS Excel files (ODBC), other ODBC data sources) in a semi-automatic way, by exploiting data sources metadata and lexical annotation w.r.t Wordnet. The annotation process has been extended with an automatic annotation tool enabling the users to extend the WordNet with new terms (and meanings) coming from specific domain glossaries. A Data Preview tool enable users to explore the local data source instances and make a preview of the partial integration results during each integration phase. A Query Manager module allow users and applications to execute queries on integrated schemas.
MOMIS 1.1 is available for download after the registration to the DataRiver website.
We encourage both developers and researchers to download the version 1.1 of the software and to contribute to the future development of the MOMIS system.
Together with the version 1.1, we published in the download section a detailed user manual and a set of video tutorial to learn quickly how to integrate data sources with the MOMIS system.
